Mess free tanning with CLEAR BASE self tan mousse
Updated: Dec 28, 2022

Self tanning mousse and spray tans are usually applied with a cosmetic bronzer additive and most of this rinses away when you have your first shower. The bronzer is usually added to the formula to give you a visual guide of where the mousse has been applied on the skin and also to give you immediate satisfaction of a tan right after applying it. However you may notice, it is very rare for your fully developed tan to look the same as the initial bronzer colour.
The application is exactly the same for both clear and bronzer based tans. Except obviously you wont have the tinted look to the skin immediately afterwards. Our clear base tanning mousse leaves a slight sheer glimmer on the skin whilst it's wet to help with application.
Key ingredients in our clear base tan include:
Argan Oil which is High in Vitamin E, Aloe Vera to help lock in moisture and soften the skin and Coconut Fruit Powder to hydrate the skin.
Advantages:
No need to rinse off. The clear base tan cannot be seen on your skin so you can continue your day as usual without looking crazy dark! and simply shower when you get home later that day.
No bedding transfer, so you can rest assured that you wont wake up with tanning bronzer all over your sheets!
No clothing transfer. Great for brides or anyone wanting to wear a light coloured dress for an occasion.
No skin discoloration from age spots. For some people the cosmetic bronzer sticks to age spots, and skin tags giving a darker, blotchy appearance.
Better fading. We have found that the clear base allows for a more natural fade over a period of time.
Less dark pore spots on the legs from shaving. Sometimes with bronzer mousses can leave sport in large pores on the legs, if you find this happens a lot to you, you may find the clear base tan will eliminate this issue.
Disadvantages:
As there is no colour guide, it is not recommended for beginners. However, with some practice of your technique and good lighting this will make a big difference.
Slightly lighter result in the first couple days, this is because there is no "bronzer staining" of the skin which you will often see with bronzer tans. However the lack of bronzer tint means a more natural looking tan.
Increasing in popularity as a more natural result clear base tanning mousses are perfect for achieving a sun-kissed glow without any of the mess involved with the old self-tanner routine. If you are looking to make your next fake tan purchase, the clear mousse seems like the obvious choice for people that want a natural looking tan, but want to ensure there is no mess or any chance of tan transfer.
