Thinking about trying our Never Too Tan self-tanning mousse or just want to get the most out of your glow? Here are the answers to the most common questions we get.

How long does a self-tan last?

Your self-tan will usually last 5-7 days, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you look after your skin. Just like a spray tan, it will gradually fade as your skin naturally renews itself. To keep your tan looking fresh, moisturise daily, avoid long hot baths or spas, and limit time in chlorinated pools or the ocean.

What should I wear after applying self-tan?

After applying your mousse, pop on loose, dark cotton clothing with slip-on shoes. This avoids rubbing and helps the tan develop evenly. Tight clothing can cause patchy marks, so comfy is always best while your tan is setting.

Can I use self-tan if I have sensitive skin?

Yes! Our mousse is made with skin-loving, natural ingredients and free from harsh chemicals. If you have eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis, we recommend patch testing first-just to make sure your skin is happy with it.

How long does it take to apply?

One of the best parts of our mousse is how quick and easy it is. Full-body application usually takes around 10-15 minutes. It dries fast too, so you won’t be waiting around forever before getting dressed.

How do I prepare for the perfect self-tan?

Preparation is key! Here’s how to get the best results:

  • Exfoliate 1–2 days before tanning to remove dry, dead skin cells.

  • Do your hair removal (waxing/shaving) at least 24 hours before applying.

  • On tanning day, start with clean, dry skin - no moisturiser, deodorant, perfume, or body oils.

  • Use a tanning mitt for a streak-free, even finish.

Why does colour wash off in the shower?

When you rinse off, you’ll notice some colour running down the drain. Don’t stress - this is just the colour guide (the bronzer that lets you see where you’ve applied). Your real tan is still developing underneath and will deepen over the next 24 hours.

Can I wax or shave with self-tan?

  • Waxing: Always wax at least 24 hours before tanning. Waxing afterwards can strip your tan off.

  • Shaving: Shave the day before if possible. If you need to shave after tanning, keep in mind it can cause the tan to fade faster or go patchy.
